Workshop Details

Bring a large towel for your workspace. Plan on a 5 hr window to build your drum & drumstick. Bring your lunch & water. The workshop will be indoors. Leave the perfectionist at home, bring the creative artists.

Raw Hide: Horse, Elk, Deer or Bison. Choose the hide of the animal you are most aligned with or have a totem with. In Colorado, All hides have some fluctuation with hot & cold temps and dry or humid climates. Lacing the drum to suit the climate it will be played in is the key. The thicker the hide the deeper the tone.

Frames: Willow, Cedar and Maple. Do your own research on deciding which wood type works well for you. This is a personal choice on the type of wood that your aligned with.

Tools and care instructions for your medicine drum are provided.
